Turnitin Draft Coach 三大功能：相似度、引用、语法检查的官方配额与规则
Draft Coach 是 Turnitin 的提交前练习工具，它干三件不同的事：相似度、引文、语法。官方「如何使用」页面给出精确边界——每份作业相似度检查 3 次、引用和语法检查不限次数、语法用美式英语规则、超过 100,000 字符只报前 100,000——还有一个让人安心的关键事实：运行相似度检查不会把你的草稿加入数据库，练习检查不会成为你终稿的匹配来源。

先说结论
Draft Coach 有三个功能，配额各不相同。相似度检查每份作业限 3 次；引用检查和语法检查不限次数。语法使用美式英语规则，且对超长文档只检查前 100,000 个字符。所有检查都不会把你的草稿加入 Turnitin 数据库，老师也看不到这些自查（老师能不能看到 Draft Coach，另有专文说明）。
产品自己描述的三种检查
Turnitin 的 Draft Coach 产品页描述了学生的三种能力：
"Address unintentional plagiarism early on — Students access similarity checks as they write in Word for the web and Google Docs to ensure proper paraphrasing, summarizing and other elements of authentic work prior to final submission."（尽早解决无意的抄袭——学生在 Word for the web 和 Google Docs 中写作时即可访问相似性检查，以确保在最终提交前进行适当的改写、总结以及其他真实创作的要素。）

使用场景在官方页面反复出现同一句：检查在「你写作的地方」运行——Word 网页版和 Google Docs。这就是产品的全部表面：它不是针对别处保存的文件的独立检查工具。
相似度检查：3 次，策略性使用
官方「如何使用 Turnitin Draft Coach」页直接写明配额：
"You will be able to run a total of three Similarity Checks while drafting your assignment. We suggest using these strategically to get as much out of the reports as possible."（在起草作业时，您总共可以运行三次 Similarity Checks。我们建议有策略地使用这些检查，以尽可能充分利用报告。）
页面自己的建议是把次数分散用，而不是一开始就耗尽：
"Create a plan for using your reports prior to beginning your assignment... We strongly suggest that you make an effort to not use your checks all at once. Spread them out to help you improve your writing and citations over multiple drafts."（在开始作业之前，制定一个使用报告的计划……我们强烈建议您尽量不要一次性用完所有检查。将它们分散使用，以帮助您在多个草稿中改进写作和引用。）
运行期间有一条规则要注意：官方原话 "Please do not alter your text while the Similarity Check is running. You can make changes as soon as the report has generated."（检查运行中不要改稿，报告生成后就可以改）。结果也被定位为诊断而非定论——"It is normal to receive some matches in a well-referenced paper and it doesn't always mean that it is plagiarism."（引用规范的论文有一些匹配很正常，不一定就是抄袭）。
检查不会进入数据库
对谨慎的学生来说，官方页面里最重要的一句是：
"Running a Similarity Check will not add your assignment to our database so will not be used to match against your final paper."（运行 Similarity Check 不会将您的作业添加到我们的数据库中，因此不会用于与您的最终论文进行比对。）
Draft Coach 相似度检查是一次私密运行：你的草稿不会被索引，也不会拿来和你终稿比对。3 次检查也是你自己的——老师看不到（老师能看见什么，看这篇专文）。这就是「在 Draft Coach 里练习」和「通过班级收件箱正式提交（会进数据库）」的区别。
引用检查与语法检查：不限次，但有一条上限
另外两种检查没有配额：
"You will be able to run as many Citation Checks as you like while you draft your assignment."（在起草作业时，您可以随意运行任意次数的 Citation Checks。）
"You will be able to run as many Grammar Guide checks as you like while you draft your assignment."（在起草作业时，您可以随意运行任意次数的 Grammar Guide checks。）
但语法有两条限制。规则是美式英语：
"Grammar Guide checks your draft using US-English grammar rules."（Grammar Guide 使用美式英语语法规则检查您的草稿。）
报告对任何文档只检查前 100,000 个字符：
"For any particularly long documents, Grammar Guide will only provide a report for the first 100,000 characters. If your document exceeds this length and you would like to utilize Grammar Guide fully, we recommend splitting your draft into separate documents."（对于任何特别长的文档，Grammar Guide 将仅为前 100,000 个字符提供报告。如果您的文档超过此长度，并且您希望充分利用 Grammar Guide，我们建议将草稿拆分为单独的文档。）
论文级别的长文会超过这个上限；官方建议是把文档拆开，而不是整篇交进去指望后面也被检查。
查看完整报告与临时排除
至少运行过一次相似度检查后，View Full Report 会开启交互版报告，有两种读来源的方式：Sources Overview 只显示顶部匹配来源、不显示重叠匹配；All Sources 列出找到的每一个匹配。设置齿轮提供临时排除——按检索库排除（网络、出版物、全球学生提交）或按匹配类型排除（参考书目、引文、小匹配）——官方页面明确说这些排除「do not save or pass back to Draft Coach」（不保存、不回传）。你在草稿报告里隐藏的内容只在那里隐藏；不会带进你真实提交的最终相似度报告。
底线
Draft Coach 是三个练习工具，配额各不相同：每份作业相似度检查 3 次（分散用）、引用检查不限次、语法检查不限次但用美式英语规则、且 100,000 字符封顶。检查运行在 Word 网页版和 Google Docs，从不把你的草稿加进 Turnitin 数据库，临时排除只停留在草稿视图。把 3 次相似度检查当成正式提交前仅有的几次演练——这个配额才是稀缺资源。
