Privacy Policy

Last updated: 21 July 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how HumanPen (the "Service", "we", "us") collects, uses, and protects your personal data when you use humanpen.net. It also explains the choices you have. We aim to collect only what we need to run the Service.

1. Who is responsible for your data

HumanPen is the party responsible for the personal data processed through the Service. You can contact us about privacy at support@humanpen.net.

2. What we collect

Account information

When you sign in, we receive your email address and a unique account identifier from our authentication provider. We do not store your password.

Documents you submit

When you use the Service, we receive the documents you upload and any passages you select for processing, together with the results the Service returns. This text is sent to third-party AI providers so that it can be processed and returned to you. Neither we nor, under our agreements, those providers use it to train AI models.

Usage and job data

We record information about the jobs you run, such as file names, word and token counts, the options chosen, timestamps, status, and the model cost of the job. We use this to operate the Service, show your history, bill credits, and monitor reliability.

Payment information

Payments are handled by our third-party payment provider, which acts as the merchant of record. We do not receive or store your full card details. We do receive a record of your order (package, amount, status) to grant your credits and keep your purchase history.

3. How we use your data

  • To provide the Service — process your documents, return results, and let you download them.
  • To manage your account, credits, and purchase history.
  • To secure the Service and detect or prevent abuse.
  • To comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use your documents or results to train AI models.

4. Legal basis for processing

Where data-protection law such as the GDPR applies, we rely on the following legal bases:

  • Performance of a contract — to provide the Service you have signed up for, process your documents, and manage your Credits and purchases.
  • Our legitimate interests — to secure the Service, prevent abuse, and improve reliability, in a way that does not override your rights.
  • Legal obligation — to keep the accounting and transaction records we are required to retain.
  • Consent — where we ask for it specifically; you can withdraw consent at any time.

5. Who we share data with

We share data with a small number of service providers that help us run the Service, only as needed:

  • An authentication provider, which manages sign-in and your account identity.
  • A payment provider, which processes purchases as merchant of record.
  • A cloud object-storage provider, where your uploaded documents and results are stored.
  • Third-party artificial-intelligence model providers, to which the text you submit is sent so that it can be processed and returned to you.

These providers process data on our behalf under their own security and privacy commitments. We do not otherwise disclose your personal data, except where required by law.

6. International transfers

Our providers may process data in countries other than your own. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for such transfers.

7. How long we keep data

We keep data only as long as we need it:

  • Uploaded documents and results are kept so you can access your job history, and are deleted when you delete the job or your account, or on request.
  • Account and usage records are kept while your account is active.
  • Order and payment records are kept for as long as accounting and tax law requires, even after account deletion.

You can ask us to delete your uploaded documents and account data at any time, subject to records we must retain for legal or financial reasons.

8. Security

We use technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information against unauthorized access.

9. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact support@humanpen.net. You also have the right to complain to your local data-protection authority.

10. Cookies

We use cookies and similar technologies that are necessary to sign you in and keep the Service working (for example, to maintain your session). We do not use them to build advertising profiles.

11. Children

The Service is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.

12. Changes and contact

We may update this Policy from time to time; we will update the "Last updated" date above when we do. For any privacy question or request, contact support@humanpen.net.
