About HumanPen
Rather than introduce ourselves, it seems more useful to explain why the tool looks the way it does. The trade-offs say more than a biography would.
The one thing we do
Take a document you have already written and get it to a state you can hand in.
Four passes, all over the same file: strip AI writing patterns, standardize references to a target style, condense to a word limit, and translate between Chinese and English with the layout intact.
There is no "write this for me" entry point. That is not a gap in the roadmap; it is not something we intend to build.
Three trade-offs
Whole files, not a text box. Nearly every tool in this category takes pasted text and returns plain text. We ask for a DOCX or PPTX and return an editable file in the same format, with layout, figure numbering, and reference structure intact. The cost is that we are slower and heavier than a text box and poor value for a stray paragraph. What it buys is that a paper with submission formatting requirements does not have to be rebuilt in Word afterwards.
No per-request length cap. Across the category, a single request tops out around two or three thousand words, including on the most expensive tiers. A fifty-thousand-word thesis therefore gets split a dozen times or more, and terminology drifts between the pieces while cross-references break. We process the file: it is split semantically, the slices are rewritten in parallel, and every slice shares the same source context. One upload, one download.
No effectiveness promise - verification instead. We do not offer a detected-or-refunded guarantee, and we do not run our own detector, because setting your own exam and grading it is not persuasive. What we do instead is accept the Turnitin or iThenticate report your institution issued: only the flagged passages are processed, the rest is frozen, and you are billed only for the flagged portion. The verification data comes from your side, not ours.
What we do not do
No content generation, no grammar checking, no real-time assistance, no browser extension, and no detector of our own. The rewrite engine currently supports English only, with Chinese on the roadmap - we would rather say so than blur it.

HumanPen is built and maintained by the HumanPen team.
We have not put photographs and biographies on this page - not to hide, but because they would not help you judge whether the tool is sound. What would is elsewhere: every limit stated across these pages can be checked on the spot. Where it says English only, it is English only. Where it says the body is frozen, not a word moves. If any of it fails to hold, tell us.
