Humbot Review: Pricing, Word Credits, API, and Refunds

Humbot is a paste-text AI Humanizer inside a larger study and writing suite. Its public contract is detailed enough to compare paid plans, but three details need attention: English output consumes Basic-word credits at a 3-to-1 rate, the API page gives conflicting 50K prices, and the refund pages say both 30 days and seven days.

I checked Humbot's Humanizer, Pricing, API, Refund Policy, Terms, and Privacy Policy on August 26, 2026. I did not enter text, run a humanizer or detector, upload a file, open checkout, accept terms, or pay.

HumanPen publishes this review and has a commercial interest in the document workflow described later. Every Humbot statement comes from Humbot's own pages. No detector benchmark was performed.

Read the balance, conversion rule, input cap, and billing cadence as four separate fields.

The public Humanizer page presented an editable text area, a Humanize action, Citation Protection, and controls labelled Enhanced, Expand, and Shorten. The inherited session also contained an 84-word sample and showed `Remaining: 220`.

That 220 figure is not a public plan allowance. It belongs to the session observed during research, so it does not establish a new-account grant, a monthly reset, or an anonymous limit.

The checked page had no file-upload input. This supports a narrow finding: the Humanizer surface reviewed here was a text editor. It does not prove that another Humbot tool or account state lacks file features.

A live counter describes that session. A plan entitlement needs a published amount and reset rule.

Humbot's credit usage guide treats Basic words as a usage currency. For the AI Text Humanizer, it lists a different charge by output language.

The denominator is output words, not input words. A 3,000 Basic-word balance therefore should not be read as a promise that any 3,000-word English document will fit. Output length was not tested here, so this review does not convert a plan balance into guaranteed document capacity.

This unit also changes how two users compare value. The same visible Basic-word balance can fund different output totals when one job is English and the other is not.

The plan prints the wallet size. The credit guide tells you what one output word costs.

The Pricing page showed a Back to School sale. Switching between Monthly and Yearly changed the rendered prices while keeping Basic words, Advanced words, and the Humanizer input cap visible.

These were sale prices on August 26, not permanent list prices. The yearly view labels each number `USD /mo`; the visible cards did not state the total annual charge. Confirm the checkout total and later renewal price before paying.

`Unlimited` applies to Basic words and the listed Humanizer input limit. The same card still caps Advanced words at 10,000 per month. Read the row tied to the tool you will use instead of treating the plan name as an account-wide promise.

Unlimited Basic words and 10,000 Advanced words can both be true on one plan.

Humbot's Pricing FAQ says users can try a Free plan and that paid plans provide more usage and higher input limits. In the checked state, the main card area published Basic, Unlimited, and Pro, but it did not give one general free allowance or reset period.

The `Remaining: 220` counter cannot fill that gap because it came from an inherited session. A new visitor may see a different balance or account rule. Open the Humanizer in the account you intend to use and record the live counter before planning a free test.

This review also excludes Humbot's claim that free and paid output quality is the same. No output was generated, so that remains a vendor statement rather than an observed result.

A free-plan label answers whether access exists. It does not answer how much one account can process.

No. The API page says API pricing is distinct from the standard plans. It offers a 250-word test, then publishes a separate volume schedule.

The $41.65, $25.50, and $30 figures appeared on the same page for the same starting volume. This review does not choose which one checkout will enforce. If an integration budget depends on the difference, capture the payable total before building around the service.

The API FAQ also says service is temporarily suspended when its balance is exhausted and that extra word credits are needed to continue. Do not assume a browser plan will cover that balance.

Web-plan credits and API words are separate purchase paths until the account says otherwise.

Humbot publishes two answers. The plan-comparison table says `30-Day money back guarantee`. The Refund Policy and the refund section in the Terms both use a seven-day window and add a usage condition.

The detailed pages direct requests to `hello@humbot.ai`. They also reserve the right to reject abuse or Terms violations. The public pages do not explain why the comparison table uses 30 days.

Ask support which rule governs the exact purchase before relying on the longer label. Keep the order number, usage count, request email, and reply.

A short guarantee label is incomplete when the detailed policy adds both time and usage tests.

Humbot's Terms say monthly and annual subscriptions are billed in advance and renew automatically. Cancellation is available before the renewal date through account settings or with help from support.

After cancellation, access continues to the end of the current billing period. The Terms say there is no partial refund, credit, or prorated billing for unused time in that period.

This makes cancellation and refund separate actions. Cancelling stops a future renewal; it does not by itself satisfy the seven-day and 1,000-word refund conditions.

Cancel before the renewal date and save the confirmation screen or email.

Humbot's Privacy Policy lists email address, Usage Data, social-media information, and cookies as personal-data categories. It gives a general rule that personal data is kept as long as needed for the stated purposes and may be shared with listed service providers and partners.

The checked policy does not publish a specific retention period for text pasted into the Humanizer. That is a page-scoped finding. It does not prove that content is stored forever, deleted immediately, or covered by no account-only notice.

For confidential research, client material, or unpublished data, ask support how submitted text is processed, which providers receive it, and when copies are deleted. Keep sensitive material out of a trial until those answers meet your requirements.

A general privacy retention clause is not a content-retention schedule.

The checked contract is easiest to evaluate for paste-text jobs where the input cap, output language, and required credit type are known.

Use a disposable sample that resembles the real job. Review names, numbers, quotations, citations, and meaning before relying on any rewrite.

Pick from the enforced unit and required output, not the broadest plan label.

If the deliverable is an editable file, a documented return format can matter more than a text-mode menu. HumanPen says DOCX, PPTX, and TXT return in the format supplied, with Word and PowerPoint files remaining editable.

Its public workflow lets users choose passages directly or use a Turnitin or iThenticate report to identify candidate text before confirming the scope. Everything outside that scope is left unchanged. Eligible results can continue lowering AI for free.

HumanPen is the publisher, so this section is commercial first-party disclosure. Humbot's checked Humanizer page did not offer a file-upload control, but this review did not run a shared file or detector test.

Use a text editor for text. Require a documented file return when the file is part of the deliverable.

Humbot publishes useful plan caps and a rare credit-conversion table. That table is the detail to read first: an English output word costs three Basic-word credits, so the balance on a plan card is not a plain document word count.

The unresolved parts are equally concrete. The API page gives three prices around its 50K starting tier, and the site presents both a 30-day guarantee and a seven-day policy. Those are questions for the live counter, checkout, and support, not reasons to invent a cleaner contract.

Before paying, record the selected billing cadence, payable total, renewal price, relevant credit balance, input cap, and refund answer. That evidence will matter more than the detector logos on a sales page.

The best next step is to settle the units and conflicting terms before submitting real work.

Is Humbot free?

How much does Humbot cost?

In the checked sale, monthly prices were $10.19 for Basic, $50.99 for Unlimited, and $19.54 for Pro. The yearly view showed monthly equivalents of $6.79, $8.49, and $8.49. Confirm the annual total and renewal price in checkout.

Why do English jobs use more Basic words?

Humbot's credit guide says the AI Text Humanizer charges three Basic-word credits per English output word and one per output word for other languages.

Does Humbot upload and return Word files?

The Humanizer page checked for this review had a paste-text editor and no file-upload input. That does not establish the behavior of every Humbot tool or account state.

What is Humbot's refund policy?

The Refund Policy and Terms say requests must be made within seven days, with no more than 1,000 words used, for a direct website purchase. The plan table separately says 30 days, so confirm which rule applies before purchase.
