Frequently asked questions

Which files does HumanPen support?

HumanPen supports DOCX, PPTX and TXT. Each comes back in the format it went in as: DOCX and PPTX stay editable documents, and a TXT keeps its line structure and indentation.

Will polishing change the meaning or document formatting?

HumanPen aims to preserve meaning, structure, terminology, citations, layout, and styles while rewriting only the necessary language. Review complex documents after download.

Can I humanize only selected passages?

Yes. Add passages directly, or import an existing Turnitin AI Writing Report PDF. A paragraph is the smallest unit the engine rewrites: if your selection covers only part of one, it is expanded to the full paragraph and shown that way for you to confirm. Everything else is left untouched.

Does word control guarantee the output lands inside the range?

Not strictly — the rewriting is done by a model, so the word count converges on the range but can drift slightly past it. Set the range one notch tighter than the real requirement to leave a buffer: for a 1,500–2,000-word requirement, configure 1,600–1,900, so an output that drifts to around 1,950 still meets the requirement without a re-run. A word limit also weakens the humanizing effect somewhat, so leave it unset unless a length is actually required.

How are credits calculated?

1,000 words costs 100 credits, and only the words actually rewritten are billed: a whole-document job counts the document, while a selected-passages job counts just those passages. A paragraph is the smallest unit a rewrite can touch, so a selection is expanded to full paragraphs before it is counted. You see an estimate before starting; credits are reserved when the job starts and charged only after it succeeds.

What if some passages are still flagged after rewriting?

On the result page, click Free re-humanize to import a detection report (Turnitin / iThenticate supported) and run a free second pass on just the still-flagged passages - Balanced usually works fine.

How can I get a Turnitin detection report?

We work with a professional detection provider who can supply an official Turnitin AI report. Reach their support through either QR code below.

How long does a document take?

Most jobs are ready within a few minutes. HumanPen polishes multiple passages in parallel without a page-count limit; timing still varies with the document, selected scope, and queue activity.

How do I reach you if something goes wrong?

Email support@humanpen.net and we will respond as soon as we can. Please include the job ID, shown on every job in your history, so we can trace it.
